A B2B GTM consultancy is a firm that diagnoses, designs, and in the best cases builds the go-to-market system a business-to-business company uses to win and convert pipeline: ICP and positioning, sales process and methodology, RevOps architecture, and the outbound and paid channels that feed it. The best GTM consultancies leave behind something the client can run without them, not just a strategy deck.
Pricing disclaimer: Consultancy pricing changes frequently. Figures below are accurate as of October 2026, sourced from published pricing pages and public materials. Where pricing is not published, we state "Not public." Contact each firm directly for a current quote.
Key Takeaways
- "Consultancy" covers three very different products. Advisory-only firms (strategy, methodology, training), build-and-advise firms (they design the system and install it), and fractional leadership (a senior operator embedded part-time). Know which one you are buying before you take a single discovery call.
- The most common failure mode is a great strategy with nobody to execute it. If your team does not have the capacity or technical depth to implement the recommendations, an advisory-only engagement produces a document, not pipeline.
- Methodology firms are still the best answer for broken sales processes. If deals stall after the first meeting, Winning by Design, Force Management, or The Bridge Group will create more value than any pipeline builder.
- Advanced Client (our firm) is a build-and-advise consultancy. We design the GTM system and install it inside your tools across three tiers: GTM Sprint (from $5K/mo, 3-month minimum), GTM Engineering Install (from $50K+, 8-12 weeks), and LinkedIn Ads management (from $3K/mo + ad spend). Founder-led delivery, 8 figures+ of pipeline created across 30+ B2B brands.
- We recommend competitors over ourselves in at least four scenarios in this article. Methodology overhauls, SDR team design, HubSpot-native RevOps, and full marketing functions are all better served elsewhere.
Why We Wrote This and Our Disclosure
Advanced Client is a GTM engineering consultancy based in London. Since 2023 we have installed go-to-market systems for 30+ B2B companies, from Seed-stage SaaS to publicly listed businesses, generating 8 figures+ of pipeline and 2,000+ sales meetings.
We wrote this because buyers searching for a "GTM consultancy" are usually sent to one of two things: lists of marketing agencies with "GTM" bolted onto their homepage, or management consultancies whose GTM practice is built for Fortune 500 transformations. Neither helps a founder or revenue leader at a $2M-$50M ARR B2B company decide who to hire.
Disclosure: Advanced Client appears on this list at position #1. To counterbalance that bias, every firm receives the same structure, we list real limitations for ourselves, and we name the specific situations where a competitor is the better choice. Every fact attributed to a competitor comes from their public materials as of October 2026. Every Advanced Client metric comes from our published case studies.
If we got something wrong about your firm, email tom@advancedclient.io and we will update the article.
Consultancy vs Agency: Why the Distinction Matters
The words get used interchangeably, but they describe different engagements.
| Dimension | GTM Agency | GTM Consultancy |
|---|---|---|
| Primary output | Campaigns, meetings, leads | Diagnosis, design, and (sometimes) the installed system |
| Engagement shape | Ongoing retainer | Bounded project or fixed-term programme |
| Who does the work | Agency staff, often junior | Senior consultants or operators |
| What you keep | Usually the results only | Frameworks, playbooks, and (in build models) the infrastructure |
| Success measured by | Activity and output | Change in how the business wins revenue |
| Risk | Dependency on the vendor | A strategy with nobody to execute it |
The best GTM consultancies sit in the overlap: they diagnose like a consultant and build like an operator. That combination is rare, and it is the main thing we scored for.
How We Evaluated
We assessed each consultancy across six criteria.
1. Diagnostic depth (20%) Does the firm start by understanding why the current GTM motion underperforms, using your CRM data, call recordings, and win/loss history? Or does it arrive with a pre-packaged answer?
2. Implementation capability (25%) Can the firm build what it recommends? A consultancy that designs a signal-led outbound motion but cannot configure Clay, your CRM, or your sending infrastructure leaves the hardest part to you.
3. What you own afterwards (20%) Frameworks your team actually uses, documented playbooks, and installed systems score highest. Slide decks score lowest.
4. Proof quality (15%) Named clients with attributed outcomes rank above aggregated review scores, which rank above unverifiable claims.
5. Seniority of delivery (10%) Are the people who sold the engagement the people who deliver it?
6. Pricing transparency (10%) Published pricing or clear ranges earn more credit than "book a call."
Proof Tier Definitions
| Tier | Definition | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | G2 or Clutch rating of 4.5+ with 40+ verified reviews | Broad, independent buyer sentiment |
| Tier 2 | Named client results with attributed metrics | Specific outcomes, self-published |
| Tier 3 | Logos, testimonials, or awards without attributed metrics | Credible but harder to verify |

| Proof tier | Tier 2: named clients, attributed revenue, client quotes |
What They Do
Advanced Client was founded in 2023 by Tom Grainger (CEO) and Louis Young (COO). The firm works like a consultancy at the start of an engagement and like an engineering team for the rest of it.
Every engagement opens with diagnosis: closed-won and closed-lost analysis, sales call transcripts, CRM data, and the client's existing stack. That work produces the ideal customer profile, a TAM of named accounts, and a set of custom buying signals specific to the client's market. Then the same founders build the system inside the client's own tools (Clay, Attio or HubSpot, Instantly, HeyReach, Trigify, WhiteWhale), launch it, optimise it against real pipeline data, and hand it over.
First campaigns go live within two weeks. Pipeline typically appears within 30 days. By day 120, the client owns every workflow, sequence, signal model, domain, and playbook outright.
The firm does not do SEO, content marketing, or paid search. GTM infrastructure only.

"Advanced Client didn't just run ads for us. They built the entire go-to-market system." — John Griffin, CRO, m3ter (subsequently acquired by Salesforce)
"Outstanding quality, tailored to our business." — Jason Murray, CSO, RAIN Group
Strengths
- Diagnosis and build from the same people. The founders who scope the problem are the founders who configure the system. Nothing gets lost between strategy and execution.
- Ownership by design. Every asset lives in the client's accounts from day one.
- Speed to pipeline. First campaign live in two weeks, pipeline within 30 days.
- Custom signal work. Signals are built from the client's own sales data, not generic intent feeds.
Considerations
- Founder-led means capacity is limited, typically 4-6 active clients at a time.
- Not a sales methodology or training firm. If deals stall after the first meeting, fix the sales process first (see Winning by Design or Force Management).
- No SEO, content, or brand work.
- The full Install starts at $50K+, which is not suited to companies under $500K ARR. The Sprint tier (from $5K/mo) is the entry point.
Pricing: GTM Sprint from $5K/mo (3-month minimum). GTM Engineering Install from $50K+ (8-12 weeks). LinkedIn Ads management from $3K/mo + ad spend.
Best for: B2B companies that want a consultancy to design their GTM system and then actually install it, with full ownership at the end.

| Proof tier | Tier 1: G2 4.8/5 (760+ reviews) |
What They Do
Winning by Design is the reference point for revenue consulting in B2B SaaS. Their SPICED discovery framework and Bowtie revenue model have become standard vocabulary across the industry. They redesign how companies sell: sales process, team structure, metrics, compensation, and coaching.
They do not run campaigns, build outbound systems, or configure tools. Engagements start with a $35K+ diagnostic and extend into custom consulting and training. Their client roster includes Apple, Google, Adobe, Twilio, Zendesk, and Confluent.

| G2 | 4.8/5, 760+ reviews | G2.com |
Strengths
- Strongest independent proof of any firm on this list.
- Frameworks that persist as internal language long after the engagement ends.
- Enterprise credibility across public SaaS companies.
Considerations
- No execution. Recommendations still need someone to implement them.
- The $35K+ diagnostic is expensive discovery for early-stage teams.
- Training decays without internal champions to enforce it.
Pricing: Revenue Academy $500-$2,500 per course. Growth Institute $2,500/yr. Custom diagnostics from $35K+.
Best for: Revenue teams where meetings happen but deals do not close.
3. Force Management: Value selling methodology for enterprise sales teams

| Website | forcemanagement.com |
| Founded | 2003 |
| HQ | Charlotte, North Carolina |
| Type | Sales methodology, enablement, consulting |
| Best for | Mid-market and enterprise sales teams standardising how value is communicated |
| Pricing | Not public |
| Proof tier | Tier 3: established methodology, limited published metrics |
What They Do
Force Management is best known for Command of the Message, a value-selling framework that gives sales teams a shared way to articulate the business problems they solve, the required capabilities, and the proof that differentiates them. Their wider portfolio includes Command of the Sale and Command of the Plan, covering deal execution and sales planning.
Engagements are built around workshops, field enablement, and leadership coaching that embed the methodology into how reps run discovery, qualify deals, and forecast. The firm positions its clients as high-growth B2B companies looking to improve sales productivity.
Evidence
- 20+ years in operation, with Command of the Message widely adopted across B2B technology sales organisations.
- Methodology trademarked and productised across messaging, deal execution, and planning.
- Published client case studies rarely include attributed revenue figures.
Strengths
- One of the most widely recognised value-selling frameworks in B2B.
- Strong for aligning large, distributed sales teams on a single message.
- Leadership coaching component addresses reinforcement, the usual weak point of sales training.
Considerations
- Methodology only. No pipeline generation, tooling, or RevOps build.
- Built for larger sales organisations; a five-person team may not need this level of structure.
- Pricing not public.
Pricing: Not public.
Best for: Sales organisations of 20+ reps that need a consistent value message and deal qualification discipline.

| Pricing | Not public |
| Proof tier | Tier 3: industry awards and research, limited attributed metrics |
What They Do
The Bridge Group has consulted on sales development for B2B technology companies since 1998. Founder Trish Bertuzzi wrote The Sales Development Playbook, one of the most-cited books on building SDR teams, and the firm's annual SDR metrics and compensation research is a common benchmarking source. In 2026, Bertuzzi stepped back from day-to-day leadership, with Kyle Smith taking over as CEO.
The consultancy helps clients with SDR, AE, and CSM strategy: team structure, hiring profiles, compensation, process, tactics, and supporting technology. Engagements are customised to the client's go-to-market motion.

- Named AA-ISP Consulting Provider of the Year four years running.
- Annual SDR metrics and compensation research widely used across the industry.
- 25+ years of continuous operation.
Strengths
- Deepest specialist expertise in sales development team design on this list.
- Benchmark data grounded in years of industry research.
- Strong for companies deciding how to structure, pay, and ramp an SDR function.
Considerations
- Focused on people and process. It does not build the data, signal, or automation layer that increasingly replaces manual SDR research.
- Published client results are mostly qualitative.
- Pricing not public.
Pricing: Not public.
Best for: Companies hiring or restructuring an SDR team who want it designed properly the first time.
5. Refine Labs: Demand strategy for growth-stage B2B
At a Glance

| Best for | Series B+ companies over-indexing on lead capture |
| Pricing | $35K+ Revenue Performance Assessment. Full engagement not public |
| Proof tier | Tier 2: named clients, attributed metrics |
What They Do
Refine Labs built its reputation on one thesis: most B2B companies over-invest in lead capture (gated content, MQL forms) and under-invest in demand creation. Engagements typically open with a $35K+ Revenue Performance Assessment, a diagnostic that maps the funnel and identifies waste, before moving into a managed demand programme across LinkedIn, Google, YouTube, Meta, CTV, and OOH.
Evidence

| Clari | 67% lower CAC, 34% cheaper pipeline, 64% higher deal conversion (9 months) | refinelabs.com case study |
| Firstup | 46% more hand raisers, 59% pipeline growth | refinelabs.com case study |
| dotCMS | Inbound demos doubled | refinelabs.com case study |
Strengths
- A genuine strategic point of view, not generic best practice.
- Senior-led strategy and execution.
- Strong mid-market and enterprise results.
Considerations
- No outbound. Signal-led prospecting and cold outreach are out of scope.
- The assessment gates full engagement pricing.
- Works best when the client invests consistently in content.
Pricing: $35K+ assessment. Full engagement not public.
Best for: Growth-stage companies whose inbound engine is producing MQLs that sales ignores.

Founded in 2006 by Matt Sharrers, now led by CEO Mike Hoffman, SBI has made four acquisitions since 2023: Sales Readiness Group (training), Carabiner Group (RevOps-as-a-Service), Daydream (AI platform, renamed ACE), and The Brevet Group (sales methodology and enablement, clients include Adobe, Snowflake, and Zscaler).
In 2025 they launched Wayforge, an AI-powered growth intelligence platform that ingests CRM, finance, and HR data, benchmarks against peers, and generates growth scorecards. In May 2026, Bow River Capital made a strategic investment to fund further expansion.
SBI operates at the intersection of strategy and enablement. Engagements span GTM design, revenue operations, sales training, and proprietary benchmarking. They claim more than $5B in cumulative revenue impact across 500+ companies since founding.

Strengths
- Deepest bench on this list: strategy, enablement, RevOps, and AI tooling under one roof.
- Proprietary benchmark data from 20 years of engagements.
- Acquisitions give them end-to-end coverage from methodology to systems.
- Institutional credibility with PE-backed and enterprise buyers.
Considerations
- Enterprise-tier pricing and engagement size. Not suited to companies under $50M revenue.
- "Estimated revenue uplift" is weaker proof than attributed closed-won or pipeline figures.
- No published pricing.
- G2 profile has very few reviews (~10).
Pricing: Not public.
Best for: Mid-market to enterprise B2B companies that need a strategic GTM overhaul, post-M&A integration, or a full sales enablement programme, and want proprietary benchmarking data behind the recommendations.

What They Do
Forget the Funnel is a consulting firm built around the Customer-Led Growth framework, created by Gia Laudi (former VP Marketing at Unbounce, where she grew revenue 900% in three years) and Claire Suellentrop (employee #2 at Calendly, helping grow to 400K+ monthly users). Their book, Forget the Funnel (Lioncrest Publishing, 2023), with a foreword by Jobs-to-be-Done co-creator Bob Moesta, codifies the methodology.
The core product is a Customer-Led Sprint: a five-week engagement where Forget the Funnel conducts deep customer research, then delivers findings, a growth strategy, and prioritised opportunities in a team workshop. They also train practitioners and consultants on the CLG framework.
This is not a pipeline generation firm. It sits upstream: understanding why customers buy, where they get stuck, and what drives expansion, then using those insights to fix activation, conversion, and retention.
Evidence
| Client | Result | Source |
|---|---|---|
| SparkToro | Free-to-paid conversion rate doubled within 2 months | forgetthefunnel.com case study |
| Autobooks | Signup rate increased 64% (14% to 23%), 300% increase in credit card payment usage | forgetthefunnel.com case study |
| UserVoice | 23% activation lift, 40% faster time to value | forgetthefunnel.com case study |
| RentCheck | Signups doubled within 3 months | forgetthefunnel.com case study |
Strengths
- Founder credentials are among the strongest on this list (Unbounce VP Marketing, Calendly employee #2).
- The CLG framework is published and repeatable, not a black box.
- Sprint model is time-boxed and low-risk: five weeks, clear deliverables.
- Strongest fit on this list for product-led growth companies.
Considerations
- No pipeline generation. This is customer research and growth strategy, not outbound or demand gen.
- Not suited to pre-PMF companies or those whose bottleneck is top-of-funnel volume.
- Pricing not public.
- No G2 or Clutch reviews.
Pricing: Not public.
Best for: B2B SaaS companies past product-market fit that are over-indexing on acquisition and need to fix activation, conversion, or retention through deep customer research.
Practitioner's Perspective
By Tom Grainger, CEO, Advanced Client. Based on installing GTM systems for 30+ B2B brands.
The Strategy Deck Problem
We inherit a lot of strategy decks. A founder shares their screen on the first call and walks us through a beautifully designed GTM plan from a previous consultancy: ICP tiers, persona maps, messaging pillars, a channel mix, a 90-day roadmap. Then we ask what happened next, and the answer is usually the same. Nobody had the time or the technical depth to build it.
The ICP tiers never made it into the CRM as fields. The persona maps never became Clay filters. The messaging pillars never became sequences. The channel mix assumed sending infrastructure that did not exist and would take six weeks to warm.
A GTM strategy is only as valuable as the system that executes it. If the consultancy cannot build, budget for someone who can before you sign.
This is not a criticism of advisory firms. Winning by Design and Force Management do exactly what they promise, and their frameworks change how teams sell. The mistake is buyers expecting an advisory engagement to produce pipeline on its own.
Three Questions to Ask Every GTM Consultancy
1. "What will exist in our systems on the last day that does not exist today?" Not documents. Fields, workflows, automations, sequences, dashboards. If the answer is "a playbook," you are buying advice.
2. "Who will do the work, and can I meet them before signing?" Senior partners sell. Analysts often deliver. Make sure you know which you are getting.
3. "What does success look like at day 30, day 90, and day 120?" A consultancy that cannot commit to measurable milestones is not confident in its own process.
When Advanced Client Is Not the Right Fit
If your sales process is the bottleneck (meetings happen, deals stall), start with Winning by Design or Force Management. More pipeline into a broken process accelerates waste.
If you are building an SDR team and need the structure, compensation, and ramp designed properly, The Bridge Group has more depth on that specific problem than we do.
If you run HubSpot and your core issue is CRM architecture rather than pipeline generation, Six & Flow or ARISE GTM will serve you better.
If you need an entire marketing function, Kalungi embeds a CMO and team. We build GTM infrastructure only.
We have referred prospects to firms in every one of these categories.
Decision Matrix
1. "We have a strategy but nobody to build it." Advanced Client designs and installs the system inside your tools, then hands it over.
2. "We get meetings but deals don't close." Winning by Design for a revenue architecture overhaul. Force Management if the issue is value messaging and qualification at scale.
3. "We're about to hire our first five SDRs." The Bridge Group to design the team. Consider whether a signal-led system reduces how many you need.
4. "Our MQLs are high but sales says they are rubbish." Refine Labs to rethink demand creation and measurement.
5. "I need senior GTM judgement but can't afford a full-time CRO." Scaled for fractional leadership. The GTM Engineering Company if the gap is technical rather than strategic.
6. "Our HubSpot is a mess and nobody trusts the data." Six & Flow or ARISE GTM.
7. "We need a whole marketing department." Kalungi.
8. "Our positioning is weak and every campaign underperforms." Genesys Growth, before you spend on distribution.
9. "The board wants attributable pipeline this quarter." Advanced Client (m3ter: $2.4M pipeline, 4.71x ROAS) or Refine Labs (Clari: 34% cheaper pipeline). Both publish attributed figures.
10. "We're a PE or VC portfolio needing a repeatable GTM playbook." Scaled for advisory. Advanced Client for a standardised build across portfolio companies. SBI Growth Advisory if the portfolio is mid-market to enterprise and needs benchmarking data behind the strategy.
11. "We need outbound, ABM, paid, and RevOps from a single partner." Frontal covers more channels under one roof than most firms on this list. Advanced Client if the priority is signal-led outbound and full system ownership by day 120.
12. "Our activation and retention are the bottleneck, not top-of-funnel." Forget the Funnel. Their Customer-Led Growth sprint is built specifically for SaaS companies that have traffic and signups but cannot convert or retain them.
13. "We're enterprise and need GTM strategy backed by proprietary benchmark data." SBI Growth Advisory. Twenty years of benchmarking data and an AI-powered growth intelligence platform (Wayforge). Not suited to companies under $50M revenue.
How to Choose a B2B GTM Consultancy: A 5-Step Framework
Step 1: Name the bottleneck
Pipeline volume, pipeline quality, conversion, or capacity. Each one maps to a different type of consultancy. A pipeline builder cannot fix a conversion problem, and a methodology firm cannot fix a volume problem.
Step 2: Decide whether you need advice, a build, or both
Be honest about your team's capacity. If nobody internally has 15+ hours a week to implement recommendations, an advisory-only engagement will stall. Choose a build-and-advise firm or budget for implementation separately.
Step 3: Audit what you already have
Most B2B companies already own 60-70% of the tooling they need. A good consultancy will audit before it recommends new software. Be wary of any firm that opens with a tool list.
Step 4: Validate proof on your terms
Ask for a reference at your stage, in your market, with a similar ACV. Ask that reference what went wrong. Check whether published results are pipeline, influenced revenue, or closed-won. They are not the same thing.
Step 5: Start bounded
A 90-day sprint, a diagnostic, or a single-channel pilot gives you a defined exit point. Extending a good engagement is easy. Escaping a 12-month retainer is not.
